The well known comedy actor Vadivelu is known to be one of the foremost adversaries of DMDK Chief and actor Vijaykanth and his hostility towards the Karuppu MGR is known to all.
Vadivelu is actively involved in campaigning for the DMK camp and began his campaign in Thiruvaroor on March 23rd in the presence of the DMK Chief and Tamilnadu chief minister M Karunanidhi.

During this elction campaign Vadivelu had reportedly made derogatory and slanderous remarks against Vijaykanth and hence a complaint was lodged against Vedivelu with the Election Commission saying that Vadivelu had defied the modal code of conduct.
It was also reported that his inflammatory speech was repeatedly shown in a private television channel.
It was DMDK functionary Dileep Kumar who filed a complaint with the Election Commission seeking action against the comedy actor.
Following the complaint, a case was filed under section 153 A and 505 against Vadivelu.
